the outcomes are used to guide students into appropriate classes. Students will need to have already placed on MCC prior to taking the test, and tests must be taken prior to registering for classes.
Concerning the Assessment Testing Process
This procedure comprises two sections that are possible. The section that is first a computerized test called Accuplacer, where students are tested on mathematics, reading comprehension and either sentence skills or their level of English proficiency (LOEP). The section that is second the Challenge Essay, provides an example of each student’s writing. This one-hour essay that is timed mandatory for several students who place below English 101 regarding the English percentage of the Accuplacer. The Challenge Essay is administered on a day separate through the Accuplacer.
Students may request essay writers an English or math assessment test exemption form by submitting the evidence that is following the Admissions office:
|English||Reasoning Through Language Arts (RLA) with a score of 165-174||English score of 21 or maybe more, or ACT English and ACT Reading combined score of 47 or maybe more||College-level transfer credit approved because of the Admissions office||Appropriate SAT scores (see guidelines below)|
|Math||Mathematical Reasoning (MR) with a score of 165-174||Math score of 18 or maybe more||College-level transfer credit approved because of the Admissions office||Appropriate SAT scores (see guidelines below)|
After the exemption has been processed, the student has to bring the signed off exemption using them to your actual test appointment.
Students that have completed the Accuplacer test at another college should bring their score report to the Center that is testing L131, and see the test administrator to see where those scores would place them at MCC. Read more
